The Vision Behind Renaming Ourselves: Kingdom Life Church

Raising Up People that Live a Kingdom Lifestyle

Our church has gone through many storms.

In fact, we have weathered storms that would have closed most churches.

The reason why we are still standing is because the hand of the Lord is upon this house.

Also, because of the love the Lord has placed in your hearts to serve, support, and pray over this church.

So allow us to share with you what we see (Vision) for our church moving forward. We see:

WHAT IS A KINGDOM LIFE?

We've heard  of  "Public" Life, "City" Life, etc...

A Kingdom Life is the  super natural way of living  made possible by the Holy Spirit.

It is the culture of Heaven we model on the Earth.

It is the identity we enjoy as  sinners turned citizens (saints) of Christ's Kingdom.

In a Kingdom Life or Lifestyle we take on the  attributes of  our King, Jesus. We imitate His:

                                                                             Love

for God, people, and the city.

Laughter

We enjoy each other’s

presence & fellowship.

Language

Speaking from Scripture as Jesus did.

Longing

Desire for lost people to be saved.

Logic

Thinking like Jesus our

King.

Launching

Equipping, and Sending individuals and families to live  a Kingdom lifestyle in everyday life in an ever- changing world.

& Life

Living as Spirit-led and empowered people. It is the Holy Spirit that gives us life.

THIS VISION REQUIRES A NEW IDENTITY – A NEW NAME.

So with respect for leaders of the past and with eyes fixed on Christ's emerging Kingdom, the Elders agree to the name:

KINGDOM LIFE CHURCH

WHY THE NAME CHANGE?

 (1)

We are a new church, with new leadership, and new vision requiring a new name.

(2)

To decree on Earth the will of God in Heaven: Kingdom presence

(Job 22:28, Proverbs 18:21 Matthew 6:10).

  (3)

To offer a divine response to the challenging times the world is enduring.

WHY THE NAME KINGDOM LIFE CHURCH?

 (1)

In Matthew 24:14 Jesus calls His Church to  preach the Gospel (Good News) of the Kingdom We want to be a Kingdom church- a  church with a culture and people that think globally and locally.  A church that understands its responsibility to proclaim Christ as a part of the larger mission of Christian churches in the world.  A church that recognizes the universal relevance of the Gospel.

     (2)

Names help to create culture.  We want to create a culture of believers that see and do ministry as a lifestyle.

     (3)

A  Kingdom Life  means to be a church that  functions on Earth as the inhabitants function in Heaven  (Matthew 6:10): in gifts (of the Spirit),  in  graces of Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-13), and in the governance of Jesus  over the Church (Colossians 1:18).

     (4)

The name Kingdom Life is a biblical way of understanding who we are now as a new congregation in a new season. Kingdom Life is our identity as individuals and families that model the lifestyle  of Jesus on Earth (Ephesians 5:1).

      (5)

A Kingdom Church  is a multicultural church. We want to be a community that reflects the rich diversity of Heaven.  Revelations 7:9 describes what the Church in Heaven looks like "...a  great multitude...from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages..."

        (6)

Kingdom Life expands upon what we've understood   a city church to be. It emphasizes being a highly outreach - oriented, end-time church  that disciples people, that helps mobilize churches for service, and that intentionally seeks to impact our city and world (Acts 1:8).

         (7)

The name Kingdom Life  (Proverbs 18:21) communicates the high standard of excellence we want to pursue in bringing Gospel influence everywhere that we can. It is the standard Christ intends for His Church to grow toward (Eph. 4:13).
